Positive change agency Think HQ has hired two new senior creatives, Rob Barnett and Max Bengtsson.

Barnett has come on board as executive creative director and Bengtsson as senior copywriter. The multi-awarded pair previously worked together on the client side at Xero, where they contributed to elevating the brand’s position as category leader.

Before his time at Xero, Barnett freelanced at agencies including Leo Burnett, BWM Dentsu and JWT. Prior to that he worked at M&C Saatchi for more than five years and he has also worked for Isobar (now Dentsu Creative). Barnett brings a wealth of experience in integrated brand communications, design, activations, and innovations.

Bengtsson previously worked at Clemenger BBDO and Isobar (now Dentsu Creative) as copywriter and senior copywriter. During his career, he has worked on campaigns including NAB – Mini Legends and Okinawa – Life, by Okinawa.

Think HQ founder and managing director Jen Sharpe, said: “I’m thrilled to have Rob and Max on board. Creatives of their caliber can be hard to find, and it’s testament to Think HQ’s growth, success and philosophy that we can attract talent like them.

“Rob will lead the Campaign and Design teams as executive creative director, working with chief creative officer Andy Lima to build on Think HQ’s creative capabilities and culture.”

Speaking about Max Bengtsson, Sharpe said: “Max’s passion for people, initiative, being forward-thinking and his love for the craft will see him lift both colleagues and creativity across the Think HQ Group. He’ll work across campaigns, new business, and technology collaboratively with the head of art and senior executive team.”

Barnett and Bengtsson will be based in Think HQ’s Melbourne office.

Think HQ is having a very successful 2023, expanding to Sydney and announcing a number of senior appointments including Thom Landers as group account director, Fiona Nixon as head of strategy and research, and Taryn Marks as head of first nations engagement and communication, as well as client wins including hybrid/EV battery innovator Infinitev and Watertrust Australia.
