Global CEO advisory firm Teneo has appointed Ben Wilson as head of Australia for its strategy & communications division, growing its senior leadership team in the local market.
Teneo is heavily in the marketing and advertising industry primarily through its advanced Conversational AI platform, which enables brands to deliver personalised customer experiences, automate engagement, and protect brand reputation.
Based in Sydney, Wilson will work across Teneo’s international network to advise clients on high-stakes corporate situations, providing counsel to boards and senior executives during critical moments.
Wilson joins the firm with deep experience across sectors including energy, technology, infrastructure, financial services, resources and real estate. He is particularly known for advising on complex mandates where financial, regulatory and reputational issues intersect.
He most recently served as managing partner at GRACosway, where he led the firm’s transactions communications practice. During his tenure, he worked on major international inbound M&A deals and transformational transactions, including the largest take-private of an ASX-listed technology company, alongside acquisitions spanning renewables, energy transmission, infrastructure and private equity carve-outs.
Wilson began his career in broadcast journalism before moving into government as a ministerial advisor, experience that underpins his ability to guide leaders through fast-moving and sensitive environments.
His appointment comes as Teneo continues to expand its footprint in Australia, where it now employs more than 100 staff nationally.
The firm’s Strategy & Communications team operates alongside its Financial Advisory practice, established in 2025 following the acquisition of PwC Business Restructuring Services and led by Stephen Longley.
Lauren Chung, CEO of Asia-Pacific strategy & communications at Teneo, said: “Ben assumes the leadership of our Strategy & Communications business in Australia at a pivotal time for the firm.”
“We have scaled up our platform in key Australian cities to support clients across an array of reputational, stakeholder, strategic and financial moments,” she said. “Bringing decades of experience across complex communications advisory, media and politics, Ben will partner closely with our Financial Advisory team to deliver senior-level counsel for our clients.”
Commenting on his appointment, Wilson said: “Teneo’s global network and integrated advisory model is a strong fit for the Australian market as business leaders face interconnected reputational, regulatory and market pressures.”
“I’m excited to grow the platform domestically, bring world-class capabilities and insights to Australian companies and support our global clients with the local counsel they need to navigate this market.”
