Indie agency Sunny Advertising has marked 15 years in business with the announcement of three major new national clients in Tree Climb, RedZed and the Mooloolaba Foreshore redevelopment campaign to its stable.
CEO Sarah McNeil said the agency continues to build a strong base of local, national and international clients who add to the fabric of Sunny Advertising’s journey from a small team operating in an industrial shed to becoming a proud independent agency with thirty staff members.
The business was founded by media and agency stalwarts Rick Chapman, Rob Gamble, Roger Delaney and Trevor Larkins in 2011 and operated under the Q Advertising moniker for just over a decade. Co-Founders Roger Delaney and Trevor Larkins continue to remain actively involved in the business as Managing Director and Executive Partner respectively while Trevor’s wife Sharon has filled key accounts and administration roles with the business since its inception.
Sarah said the agency began with just those three staff members and a big vision and over the past decade and a half, the business has evolved into a dynamic agency delivering integrated traditional, digital and PR solutions to a range of clients.
“We rebranded the business to Sunny Advertising in 2023 to reflect this growth and today our team includes a diverse range of experienced media planners, digital specialists, creatives and communicators.
“Reaching 15 years in business is an incredible milestone for Sunny Advertising, what began as a small team with big ambitions has grown into a purpose-driven agency that supports amazing clients, attracts outstanding talent, and contributes meaningfully to our community and our industry.
“We’ve also become proud advocates of our industry with a strong commitment to the Independent Media Agencies of Australia (IMAA). This not-for-profit national industry body represents independent, Australian-owned media agencies like Sunny Advertising and fosters industry collaboration and provides outstanding education opportunities to its members via the IMAA Academy. We’re proud of our journey and incredibly excited for what’s ahead,” Sarah said.
Sunny Advertising’s success is reflected in its long-standing partnerships with a range of respected clients, including Sky City, Bailey Ladders, Auswide Bank, Silk Laundry, Wattle Court Homes, Destiny Rescue, Farm Angels and Rackley Swim Schools.
In addition to commercial achievements, Sunny Advertising has a deep commitment to supporting future industry talent. Since 2014 the agency has sponsored a UniSC bursary, with several past winners going on to secure part-time or full-time roles within the business.
“We’ve always believed in giving back to the community that’s supported us as well as fostering the next generation of talent to come through the industry. Watching our bursary recipients thrive, contribute and grow with us has been one of the most rewarding aspects of our work.”
