B&T donned our best costumes and showed up in spooky glory at News Corp Australia, Tubi, NGEN, and Nova Entertainment’s Halloween party fit for the next generation of media professionals at The Imperial Hotel in Erskineville.
Nason Pybus, News Corp client partner and NGEN member, told B&T that he loves catching up with other NGEN members at events like this one.
“It really helps to see other members every few months to build community and camaraderie and feel like you’re part of something together. It’s a really great program for meeting people throughout the industry that you wouldn’t have met otherwise,” he said.
The event saw agency teams dressed in everything from Finding Nemo‘s Darla, Girl Scouts, and Winnie the Pooh.
The Halloween bash celebrated all things horror in the lead-up to Halloween. The event was hosted by Trinity the Tuck, star of Tubi’s original horror film SLAY and RuPaul’s Drag Race, alongside Nova’s Ricki-Lee, Tim & Joel, and presenter and comedian Joel Creasey.
The night celebrated Halloween’s growing popularity among younger generations who are also tuning into Tubi, which is home to Australia’s largest free horror content library.
“Our Tubi partnership has exceeded all expectations, with viewer hours soaring 50 per cent since March. This Halloween event, with global drag superstar Trinity the Tuck connecting with 350 of the industry’s brightest rising stars, represents the next chapter in that growth journey. Entertainment should be accessible to all, and the message ‘Why pay to scream when you can stream for free?’ captures exactly what Tubi offers for the next generation of Australian audiences,” News Australia general manager digital, Jessica Gilby, said.
In addition to Nova’s Joel Creasey hosting the event, Jack Charles from The Chrissie Swan Show also attended.
Nova listeners had the chance to win exclusive VIP tickets to the event, including flights, accommodation, and transfers, amplified through on-air integration.
“The NGEN Halloween celebration has become a cornerstone event for the industry’s emerging talent – a chance to come together, connect, and celebrate their learning and development. This year, we’re beyond excited to partner with Tubi to take the event to the next level and make it truly unforgettable,” Media Federation of Australia’s head of NGEN, Melanie Aslanidis, said.
Trinity the Tuck’s Australian visit was part of a comprehensive marketing campaign that included the event, press interviews, and digital and print advertising.
