Stratco has unveiled its most ambitious campaign to date, partnering with Adelaide Youth Orchestras (AdYO) who perform Richard Strauss’ iconic Also sprach Zarathustra inside one of its big sheds on a farm in the Flinders Ranges.
Developed in partnership with NATION Creative and production company, Passel Media, the captivating 15 second spot was filmed in South Australia’s Flinders Ranges featuring over 45 young musicians from Adelaide Youth Orchestras aged between 14-22.
The 15-second cinematic TVC launches Stratco Big Sheds are Built for Big Things campaign to audiences across Australia.
The TVC premiered during the launch episode of The Block, one of Australian television’s most-watched programs, on Sunday 2 August and will run across TV and digital channels nationally.
Nicholas Wheadon, group sales and marketing executive, Stratco Australia said: “Working with AdYO was a great experience. Seeing the skill and professionalism of the kids as they performed such an iconic music piece in one of our customer’s big sheds cemented the belief we had in the concept to convey that a Stratco Big Shed is built for big things.
“NATION understood exactly what we were trying to achieve, helping us create a campaign with a big idea that people will remember.”
Executive director of Adelaide Youth Orchestras, Nic Jeffries said the campaign is an exciting step forward for youth arts, providing an opportunity for young musicians to be part of a national campaign: “We are thrilled to partner with Stratco and grateful for their support of AdYO’s work.
“This new relationship enables us to continue creating outstanding opportunities for South Australia’s brightest young musicians, helping them develop their skills, confidence and passion for music.
“It also supports our important regional outreach programs, ensuring that young people and communities across South Australia can share in the transformative power of music. Together, we are helping to inspire the next generation of musicians and leaders.”
The campaign has been built on a simple truth that people understand scale best when they feel it. It opens on a single timpanist performing in front of an oversized orchestral drum. A slow camera pullback reveals the full Adelaide Youth Orchestras, dramatic scaffold lighting and sweeping beams of light, all contained inside a Stratco Big Shed against the backdrop of one of Australia’s most iconic landscapes.
By staging one of the most recognisable pieces of orchestral music, famously used in Kubrick’s 2001: A Space Odyssey, the campaign communicates the sheer scale and capability of the Stratco Big Sheds range without a single measurement.
Greg Faull, project director of Nation, was thrilled to bring this campaign to life: “The result is the Stratco Big Sheds are Built for Big Things campaign, an idea that treats Stratco Big Sheds like a premium new product launch, elevating them with a sense of scale, quality and sophistication.
“A big shed needs a big introduction however, and people understand scale best when they feel it and not through mathematical measurements, but through contrast, escalation, and a moment that makes them think, “Bloody hell, that’s big! I also don’t think there’s been anything done like this since the Australian Girls Choir were in the Qantas ad. It’s so beautiful!”
