A new chapter begins for The Unicorn Kids and Unicorn Collective, as Steve and Michelle Dubé officially take ownership of the modelling and talent agency.
Founded in 2016 by Susana Albakri and Fabian Astore, the business has built a strong reputation as a trusted, relationship-driven talent agency, representing babies, children and families across television, film, modelling and commercial campaigns. Its client portfolio includes brands such as Country Road, Best & Less, Cotton On, Peter Alexander, Camilla and Big W.
With a combined 60 plus years of experience across advertising, production and the creative industries, the husband and wife team bring a powerful blend of commercial expertise and hands-on experience working with talent.
Michelle Dubé, a hair and makeup artist, began her career as a TV Producer and has worked with a host of well-known talent throughout her career. Steve Dubé has built an extensive career producing for many of the advertising industry’s agencies and photographers, including Publicis Groupe ANZ and M&C Saatchi.
“We’re incredibly proud to take the reins of Unicorn Kids and Unicorn Collective,” said Steve Dubé. “Fabian and Susana have created something truly special. The foundation they’ve built is strong, and we’re excited to build on it and take the agency to the next level.”
“We’ve worked closely with kids, teens and families throughout our careers and understand what it takes to support and develop talent in a meaningful way,” said Michelle Dubé. “This felt like the perfect opportunity to create something special.”
Under new leadership, the agency will focus on expanding its reach and evolving its offering, including growth into the Melbourne and Brisbane markets, the introduction of a dedicated voice-over division, and a broader, more inclusive approach to representation.
“We want to broaden what representation looks like in this industry,” Michelle said. “That includes First Nations people, supporting talent with disabilities, and expanding opportunities for families. It’s about creating space for more authentic and diverse stories.”
The agency will continue to build on its strong reputation for relationships, with a focus on supporting both talent and their families throughout their journey.
“Our approach is very relationship-driven,” said Steve Dubé. “We’re here to guide, support and develop talent – not just represent them.”
As The Unicorn Kids and Unicorn Collective enters this next chapter, Michelle and Steve are committed to honouring its legacy while shaping a dynamic, inclusive future for the next generation of talent.
