Special PR New Zealand has appointed Jessica Allison as general manager of its Auckland office.
With close to 20 years in the industry across New Zealand, Sydney, London and New York, Allison has worked across technology, FMCG, retail, luxury and energy. She has built a reputation for creative, earned-led work that delivers measurable business results.
Most recently, Allison served as general manager at Thinkerbell Aotearoa, tasked with leading its market expansion. Prior to that, she was general manager at Mango Communications in Melbourne.
In a post to Linkedin Allison said: “Thinkerbell is a unique place with a bunch of clever, curious people who believe that science and creativity are better together. Getting to help build that out here in NZ has been a privilege.”
In her new role, Allison will report to managing director Kelly Grindle and will oversee client services, strategic growth and operations.
“The communications industry is at an inflection point; brands that win are those investing in integrated, creatively-led PR that earn attention,” said Grindle.
“Special PR has experienced significant growth over the past few years, and bringing in someone of Jessica’s calibre gives us the leadership infrastructure to accelerate with real impact. Her international experience, instinct for integration, and proven ability to deliver large-scale campaigns across markets make her exactly the right person to help shape what comes next.”
“I’ve watched Kelly Grindle and his team do brilliant work for years now, so when the opportunity came up to join, it was very easy to say yes,” added Allison.
