Nike has launched a pop up soup shop in Guangzhou to revive runners with Cantonese goodness after a fun run.
‘Cantonese Songyuan’ aims to combine Cantonese soup culture with Nike’s ‘Just Do It’ mantra, and will serve the first 50 runners who complete a three-kilometre run between 15 and 23 November.
The local campaign is being fronted by Chinese Olympic Sprinter Su Bingtian, whose career has been framed around quiet accumulation and improbable breakthroughs.
Bingtian is filmed in a Guangzhou wet market selecting special ingredients for soup that align with his career journey; such as a chicken leg that reflects his decision to switch starting foot, a bitter melon that represents an injury, and herbs that represent performance.
The herbal soup is served in a specially crafted Nike bowl with a ‘Swoosh’ soup spoon. It has been created in collaboration with the Guangzhou Cantonese soup shop.
Those who want soup will need to move quickly, it is limited to 50 servings per day on a first come, first serve basis—a mouthwatering motivation to run a PB.
