Bachelor Star Of Nine’s Married At First Sight Revealed As Agency ECD

He’s been labelled “one of the most repulsive men to ever grace TV” and now it’s been revealed that the star (or villain) of Nine’s new series of Married At First Sight, 39-year-old bachelor Dean Wells, is also an executive creative director at an unnamed Sydney digital agency.

According to LinkedIn, Wells is a freelance creative director, a position he has held since February 2017. Mysteriously, his profile features an employment gap from August 2009 until his current self-employed role starting in February 2017.

If you know any more about Wells’ past, please email [email protected].

Wells shot to national infamy over summer when he appeared in promos for Nine’s popular and controversial dating show where he explained his ideal women to viewers’ horror. “I want a girl who listens to me and I want to be the alpha male and she needs to respect me as the man,” Wells extolled.

B&T has done some digging about in an attempt to discover the agency Wells works for, however, has so far come up with nought. Nine has also refused to reveal his place of employment, telling B&T that “we don’t give out participants’ work details. They are appearing in a personal capacity”.

Wells debut last night caused a social media storm after he made comments about his new bride, Tracy’s, breasts which had apparently been surgically augmented. Wells admitted he couldn’t stop staring at the marketing executive’s  cleavage during the nuptials. Wells declaring: “I’m a man, it’s just natural.” He also appeared frustrated when he learned Tracy had a child from a previous relationship.

However, MAFS fans have been quick to attack the groom and his new bride. “Whoa they’ve actually managed to match him with someone who has the same regressive values. So. That’s something,” one viewer tweeted.

While another added: “Dean has to be one of the most repulsive men to ever grace TV.” And another added: “Dean is not a ‘man’s man’. Dean is just a jerk.”

Meanwhile, new-found feminist, Karl Stefanovic, has used a segment on Today this morning to personally attack Wells’s appearance and comments on last night’s episode. Stefanovic telling Wells directly that his statements were “old school language at best and sexist at worst, and offensive.”

Ironically, Stefanovic had praised his former wife, Cassanda Thorburn’s, “arse” during his 2011 Gold Logies acceptance speech.

Stefanovic asked Wells if he regretted his comments, to which Wells replied: “I wouldn’t say I regret any of that, no I don’t think Tracey was offended by any of that, so that’s the main person I’m worried about.”

Wells adding: “The whole alpha male thing has been blown out of proportion – I just want to take responsibility for my wife and my partner, and I don’t think there is anything wrong with that.”
