Qantas & The Monkeys Reprise “I Still Call Australia Home” With The Australian Girls & Gondwana National Choirs

Not that you’ll be going overseas anytime soon but that’s not stopped Qantas releasing a new and very CV-19 version of its much-loved “I Still Call Australia Home” campaign.

The social media spot features two children’s choirs – The Australian Girls Choir and Indigenous group The Gondwana National Choir – and was all shot from the kids’ homes via smartphones.

The children are all aged eight to 18 and were located all over Australia from Toowoomba (QLD) and Wollongong (NSW) to Albany (WA) and Adelaide (SA).

Qantas engaged creative agency The Monkeys to compile the footage and develop the final version.

The adaptation of the Peter Allen classic was composed and directed by Elliott Wheeler, founder of Turning Studios who has been working with Qantas on creating their Centenary campaign launch.

Qantas chief customer officer, Stephanie Tully told B&T: “If isolation and travel restrictions have shown Australians anything, it’s how much they value seeing the people and places they love.

As domestic and trans-Tasman travel restrictions begin to ease, we hope this short video inspires people to start thinking about their next trip,  particularly to destinations that are a little closer to home,” Tully said.

Check out the spot below:

    1. Believe it or not, I was part of the original recording and had some amazing experiences being flow all over the world to sing this song for Qantas’ corporate events. Singing on a plane just prior to landing was never ideal, but we certainly had some great times!
