Omnicom Media agency OMD Australia has promoted Amanda Watts to chief operating officer and Daniel Clark to managing director, Sydney.
Watts steps into the newly created national role after serving as managing director of OMD Sydney, where the agency said she played a critical role in driving operational excellence, strengthening culture, and supporting long‑term growth across one of the agency’s largest and most complex offices.
It added that the new chief operating officer role is designed to accelerate transformation across the business – connecting strategy, operations and innovation to support some of Australia’s most ambitious enterprise-scale clients.
A longstanding OMD leader, Watts brings more than 19 years of experience across Australia and Asia, combining deep operational expertise with a people-first leadership style that has consistently delivered impact for clients, teams and partners.
As part of this leadership progression, Clark has been promoted to managing director of OMD Sydney, stepping up from his role as managing partner. Clark is a highly respected leader within the agency and across the industry, known for his delivery excellence, ability to bring people together and for building strong, trusted relationships with both teams and clients.
Clark’s promotion reflects his long‑term contribution to OMD Sydney and his role as a cultural leader within the business. Renowned for his collaborative approach, he will continue to foster the connected, people‑centric culture that underpins OMD Sydney’s success, while leading the office into its next phase of growth.
Sian Whitnall, OMD Australia CEO, said: “These appointments mark the completion of OMD’s new executive bench. We have built a team that combines operational and craft excellence, with a clear license to rewrite the rules through modern media creativity – all underpinned by a strong, connected culture our people can rally around. The structure and capability we’ve created enables us to support the marketing transformation of our most complex enterprise-scale clients. Amanda and Dan already make an incredible contribution to our agency, and their appointments recognise the positive influence they have on our people, our culture, and the future we’re building together.”
Watts said of her promotion: “I’m incredibly proud to take on the role of Chief Operating Officer. I’ve always loved bringing order to complexity, aligning teams around a common goal and helping turn ideas into action. My focus will be on leading the operational execution of OMD’s strategic vision, ensuring alignment across our people, communication, commercial priorities, and transformation agenda. By driving operational excellence and future-ready ways of working, we can continue to strengthen our business, support our people and create what’s next for our clients.”
Clark added: “It’s truly a privilege to be leading the incredible OMD Sydney team. This is an iconic office built on a strong culture and a legacy of award-winning work for our clients. I’m committed to continuing to create an environment where our people can thrive, supported by the right tools, training and opportunities to do their best work. For our clients, we’re focused on strengthening our role as trusted advisors, helping them navigate change and accelerate growth. I’m excited about what’s next for our people and partners, and the impact we can make together.”
Both appointments are effective immediately.
