Nespresso Australia has launched a new activation titled ‘Cloud World’ which celebrates the launch of the new Vertuo Up machine, inviting guests in Sydney and Auckland above the clouds to explore “a playful new world of coffee”.
Created by independent creative agency and production company Emotive, Australian chef and television personality Khanh Ong kicked off the Sydney Cloud World activation at Nespresso Pitt St boutique, unveiling his exclusive signature recipe, the Nespresso Coconut Pandan Cloud, and bringing his playful take on coffee exploration to the experience.
Throughout the eight-week activation, Nespresso coffee experts will guide visitors through tastings to help them discover their preferred origins and roasts across a diverse mix of blends. Visitors can then sip their favourite coffee brought to life through limited-edition recipes, showcasing playful new ways to enjoy Nespresso.
At the heart of the experience is an exclusive menu of limited-edition coffees, developed in collaboration with the team at Maybe Sammy. These serves include the Vacanza Queen Cloud Latte, a rich, bright crowd-pleaser for Mont Blanc fans, and the Sicilian Wedding Lemonade, topped with vibrant cherry cold foam. Guests can take the creativity home with recipe cards and exclusive offers to keep exploring.
For something a little more after-dark, Nespresso Martini Hour serves up the Pop Star Martini, a rich, salted-maple twist on the classic Espresso Martini, every Saturday in September. The evenings will also feature light bites from Nespresso’s long-term women’s empowerment partner, Two Good Co, plus pink fairy floss served through a window in the wall for an extra hit of Cloud World.
In Auckland, Cloud World took a different attitude, transforming the city’s highest rooftop, Bar Albert, into a dreamy rave above the clouds, complete with Fairy Bread Iced Lattes and music by DJ Poppa Jax.
Across both markets, the experience was designed with creators and content at its heart, turning the spaces into a live entertainment set, the experience into a content creation hub, and coffee exploration into something people could see, taste, capture and share IRL.
Nespresso’s head of marketing, Michelle Katz said: “Through this new space, we’re inviting coffee lovers to explore superior coffee, recipes and possibilities available with Vertuo, while reinforcing Nespresso’s commitment to delivering exceptional coffee experiences for every taste and occasion.”
Emotive’s associate creative director, Georgie McCarthy added: “It’s been incredibly fun to create a space that’s more than just a one-hit-wonder, but an 8 week immersive experience.”
“We know that young people love getting creative with their coffee, so we designed Cloud World to encourage people to experiment, discover new flavours and explore Nespresso coffee in a more playful way.”
Cloud World marks Emotive’s second campaign for Nespresso since being appointed.
Delivered end-to-end by Emotive and Emotive Productions, the trans-Tasman experience spanned strategy, creative, experiential design, brand and cultural partnerships, creator collaboration, production, PR and social content capture.
