Monday TV Wrap: Tim Minchin’s Australian Story Pips Rebecca Gibney’s This Is Your Life

It was time to get sentimental on TV last night with Seven’s tear jerker This Is Your Life featuring acclaimed actress Rebecca Gibney going head-to-head with ABC’s Australian Story featuring the always adorable, Tim Minchin.

And it was a win for Tim and Aunty, with the episode drawing a credible 585,000 OzTAM metro viewers. Not that Ms Gibney was too far behind, her life probe managed an oh-so-close 581,000.

Nine debuted its new mature dating show My Mum Your Dad, however it has some work to do, managing just 396,000.

Still, Gibney nudged Seven over the line for a Monday night win, the network scoring 30.2 per cent of all of last night’s eyeballs (all channels). Nine was second with a neat 26 per cent, ABC took third and 18.4 per cent, 10 did 17.9 per cent and SBS had to settle with 7.5 per cent.

Seven’s 6pm news was the most watched show of the evening and posted 840,000. Nine’s bulletin had 747,000 and ACA did 702,000.

The ABC’s 7pm news did 566,000 and 7.30 did 524,000. Four Corners had 439,000 and Media Watch posted 422,000.

10’s best was Have You Been Paying Attention? with 508,000, followed by The Project (309,000), Ghosts (289,000) and The Traitors (260,000).

Other standouts for Seven included The Chase (447,000) and Home And Away (443,000). Nine’s Hot Seat did 347,000.
