Recent studies suggest that while Australian businesses recognise the need to innovate, many hesitate to explore the latest technology-driven marketing and growth tools. In response, CASPR, a media and technology agency, is launching this September to help businesses embrace AI and future-proof their growth.

Founded by Wilson Poon, Villar David, Blake Micola and Simon Train – all entrepreneurs behind agencies GMS and WhiteTower – CASPR brings together more than 50 years of combined expertise across advertising, operations, web development and technology.

CASPR delivers a suite of services spanning branding, performance marketing, and digital transformation.

The agency leverages tools like Veo3, Higgsfield, and MagicBrief to analyse top-performing ads across campaigns and competitors, uncovering what resonates with audiences and generating prompts that AI agents can use to redesign and validate new content.

According to the Australian Government’s AI Adoption Tracker, around 40 per cent of small and medium enterprises are now adopting AI, signalling momentum but still leaving a significant gap. Data from the Australian Bureau of Statistics reveals that only 46 per cent of businesses were innovation-active in 2022–23; and of those holding back, 42 per cent pointed to barriers such as cost, skills shortages, and uncertain demand as reasons for inaction.

With experience working with brands including Culture Kings, Geedup, Max Brenner, Shippit, Creed and others, the four founders of CASPR espouse that too many Australian businesses feel daunted by the challenge of leveraging technology-driven marketing and growth tools, often delaying adoption due to perceived complexity, cost, or uncertainty about where to begin.

“As a starting point, test a new AI tool or digital solution with an achievable small change before scaling up,” CASPR co-founder Wilson Poon said.

“Innovation needn’t feel overwhelming. We’ve launched CASPR to help businesses cut through the noise and tailor solutions, like AI and data platforms, to suit the specific needs of each CASPR client. A significant portion of our work is focused on helping our clients to structure their data and build internal AI agents,” Poon added.

“Too many Australian businesses still struggle to view, manage, and understand their critical information because it isn’t centralised. By consolidating data from multiple sources and organising it clearly, businesses can make smarter decisions and develop internal AI agents that act like digital team members; ultimately delivering faster, more informed decisions while keeping sensitive information secure and private.

“An internal AI agent holds enormous marketing value, transforming a company’s own data into personalised insights and automated actions that power smarter campaigns, sharper customer targeting, and stronger growth.

“Futureproofing with AI and automation isn’t just about efficiency, though. Moreover, it’s about unlocking new revenue opportunities, enhancing customer experiences, and equipping every department, and ultimately every role, with intelligent internal AI agents,” Poon said.

The full suite of CASPR’s services is structured around five interconnected areas: strategy and media buying under the banner of ‘Amplify’; campaign and branding services through ‘Create’; website and platform development via ‘Build’; technology-led solutions under ‘Innovate’; and strategic advisory and investment captured in ‘Think’.

Moving away from the bottom-heavy model of traditional agencies, CASPR’s model aims to connect Australia’s specialist talent under one roof, giving its clients direct access to expertise without dilution.

Headquartered at Surry Hills in Sydney, CASPR is targeting industries including automotive, health and medical, retail, eCommerce, technology, entertainment and lifestyle. The agency’s roadmap for the first 12 months is ambitious: to secure 10 landmark clients and establish itself as a category-defining player in Australia’s agency landscape.

“CASPR is built for brands that want to stay ahead of what’s next. We bridge the now and the next with solutions that evolve as fast as the market does,” co-founder Blake Micola said.
