Sophie Nathan.

The Life Uncut podcast, hosted by Brittany Hockley and Laura Byrne, has tapped Sophie Nathan as its new executive producer.

Known for its candid and often unfiltered conversations around love, dating, relationships, pop culture and life’s messier moments, Life Uncut has built a highly engaged community since launching in 2019.

Nathan joins the podcast from CADA, where she was most recently breakfast host and producer before moving into the role of digital content manager.

Bringing more than seven years’ experience across Australian and New Zealand radio, audio and digital content, Nathan has also hosted New Zealand television show The Feed and served as head of social media for the NZ Breakers.

She has twice been a finalist for Best National New Broadcaster in New Zealand and was also a finalist for Best Music Show.

Nathan’s appointment comes as Life Uncut continues to expand its audience and community, with the podcast now recording more than 100 million downloads since its debut and boasting more than 1.1 million social followers.

For Hockley and Byrne, Nathan’s appointment marks the beginning of a new chapter for the podcast, which has spent the past seven years building a loyal audience around its mix of humour, honesty and relatability.

“Life Uncut has grown so much over the last seven years and we are so proud of what we have built, yet we still feel like we’re only just getting started,” Hockley and Byrne said.

“We’re thrilled to have Soph joining our small but mighty team and bringing her experience, ideas and energy to the community. We’ve got big plans, and we’re excited for this next chapter.”

For Nathan, the move is particularly significant given she has long been part of the Life Uncut audience herself.

“What Britt and Laura have built with Life Uncut isn’t just a powerhouse of a podcast, they’ve built an incredible community with so much support, joy and connection,” Nathan said.

“I’ve experienced what it’s like to be a ‘Lifer’, listening along to the pod, joining discussions in the Facebook group. It is an absolute privilege to now be stepping in alongside them as EP and getting to be a part of the team.

“Having worked in audio and content for many years, a role like this is a dream. What they have here is something so special and authentic, and it’s bloody exciting to be a part of this next huge growth period for Life Uncut.”

Hosted by Hockley and Byrne, Life Uncut releases four episodes a week, covering love, dating, relationship advice, pop culture and the “raw, hilarious and unfiltered” conversations its audience has come to expect.

The podcast has featured guests including Rebel Wilson, Mel C, Elizabeth Gilbert, Steven Bartlett, Esther Perel and Teddy Swims.

Nathan begins as executive producer today, Monday 17 August.
