Independent creative agency Kerfuffle has appointed Raphael Tamkalis as design director following a period of rapid growth.
Tamkalis has previously led design for Droga5 Melbourne and brings a wealth of experience across all forms of brand design including comms, packaging, visual identity, motion design and digital architecture.
He reunites with former The Monkeys teammates Ant Keogh (chief creative at Kerfuffle), Paul McMillan (CEO) and Michael Derepas (strategy chief).

The trio set up Kerfuffle in 2025, and the agency has recently picked up new clients including Asahi and Bulla, which just released new work from the agency (see below).
“We’re incredibly lucky to have Raph join the team” said Kerfuffle’s chief creative officer, Josh Stephens.
“We’re making a conscious decision to invest in craft as part of delivering the highest possible level of creativity and finish for our clients. With Raph’s brilliant design skills and absolute attention to detail, we’re thrilled that he’s now leading the craft charge here at Kerfuffle”
Kerfuffle CEO Paul McMillan said: “We’re being asked more and more if we can help build new brands from the ground up.
“Obviously, it’s a hugely exciting opportunity to have our thinking built-in from the get-go, so to have a specialised design offering and the expertise to execute this at the highest level, with Raph at the helm, is awesome”.
Tamkalis’ appointment is effective immediately.
