Sydney’s Overseas Passenger Terminal was the glamorous setting last night as News Australia announced the winners of the 17th GQ Men of the Year Awards, recognising Australia’s most extraordinary talent across film, sport, fashion, music, science, and more.

GQ Australia operates under News Corp Australia, producing local content, events, experiential activations, digital and social media campaigns, branded partnerships, and editorial coverage across fashion, lifestyle, culture, and entertainment.

The awards, originally scheduled for last year but postponed following the tragic Bondi attacks, returned as a celebration of resilience, creativity, and achievement.

Joel Edgerton was named GQ Visionary of the Year, while other high-profile winners included Joseph Suaalii (Sportsman of the Year), Thomas Weatherall (Actor of the Year), Baker Boy (Musician of the Year), and fashion brand Commas (Emma and Richard Jarman). Breakthrough talents such as Joseph Zada and Gout Gout were also recognised.

Comedian and media personality Joel Creasey hosted the evening, which saw Australia’s biggest stars walk the GQ red carpet, with the Opera House and harbour providing a dramatic backdrop.

“GQ Men of the Year has long recognised the greatest talent across the arts, entertainment, sport, style, music, philanthropy and more,” GQ Australia Editor-in-Chief Jake Millar said.

“Especially in dark times, it is important to honour those who are helping to make the world a better place, through their determination, creativity, perseverance, innovation and optimism.”

The awards were produced by experiential agency The World Of alongside News Corp Australia Events and Experiences, with support from partners including Belvedere Vodka, Defender, Rabanne, Santa Vittoria, Uniqlo and W Sydney.
