Joe Pollard Appointed To Senior Comms Role At Minderoo

Perth-based philanthropic organisation Minderoo has appointed Joe Pollard as a senior advisor to its marketing and corporate communications team.

Pollard is an accomplished executive and non-executive director with over 30 years’ experience in brand, marketing and customer management. Her career has included group executive media and marketing for Telstra, chief executive roles at both Publicis Mojo and Ninemsn and 10 years at Nike in the United States managing global media, e-commerce and branded content divisions.

This is a short-term advisory role, while Minderoo engages search firm Hourigan International to fill its full-time communications leadership position.

Pollard will work across the Foundation’s initiatives and the commercial group’s portfolios for the next few months.

Minderoo chief executive Andrew Hagger said Pollard was joining the team at a crucial time for both the foundation and the group.

“Joe is one of Australia’s leading marketing executives,” Hagger said.

“It is a privilege to welcome someone with her experience to the organisation. The Minderoo team is excited to have her on board, hear her ideas and work with her to strengthen Minderoo’s voice here in Western Australia, across the country and around the world.”

Pollard added: “I’ve followed Minderoo’s progress from afar for some time, and I’ve been impressed by the breadth and calibre of the projects the organisation and Andrew and Nicola Forrest take on.

“I think Minderoo has tremendous capacity and potential, and I’m excited to see what we can achieve together in the time that I’m here.”

Pollard has held non-executive board director roles with Nine Entertainment Co, AMP Bank, Ninemsn, I-Select and various industry boards.  She is also a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. Pollard is based in Sydney and will commute to Perth for the position.
