TikTok has launched its largest-ever advertising campaign, celebrating the creators, community and all-around quirkiness that bring the platform to life.
The global campaign comes as the future of TikTok remains up in the air, with both Microsoft and now Oracle vying to acquire the app’s US operations.
“Every new story created on TikTok is the start of an exciting journey. Videos travel far and wide as they’re discovered, shared, and reimagined in Duets,” TikTok said about the campaign.
“As an idea catches on, so too does its impact across borders, cultures, languages, and communities. What begins as seconds of authentic creativity often turns into much more: careers blossom, memes develop, hobbies flourish, communities coalesce, and obscure songs climb to the top of music charts.”
While TikTok has given rise to a new generation of social media ‘influencers’, the new campaign tries to show that its an app for everyone.
It points to the many families that have cooked, danced, partied and performed on the app, as well as all of the hobbies and DIY projects it has helped facilitate.
“On TikTok, what begins as a personal experience – laughing to yourself while watching videos, saving favorites to share with family, hitting record for the first time – cascades into inspiring, reverberating impact that touches hundreds of millions of lives all around the world. And it starts on TikTok,” said the company.
