Apple has lost its mantle as the world’s most valuable brand, replaced by arch-nemesis Google, according to the latest Brand Finance data.

And when it comes to Australia’s most valuable brand, telco Telstra – valued at $US11 billion – takes the ticket according to an infographic of each nation’s most valuable brand produced by research firm Howmuch.net.

The infographic is based on the 2017 results of the annual Brand Finance Global 500 2017 report which you can read here.

According to the Howmuch.net graph, Google is now the planet’s most valuable brand, worth an estimated $US109.5 billion.

Google has overtaken Apple, an honour it had held for the past five years before its value tumbled 27 per cent to be worth $US107.1 billion – $US2.5 billion less than Google’s current worth.

Samsung is second – the Korean brand worth an estimated $US66.2 billion – but again, remember this is based on per nation figures and Samsung would be lucky to make the top five in the US.

The third most valuable brand per country was Japan’s Toyota, worth a reported $US46.3 billion.
