Well-respected martech leader Adam Furness is leaving Impact.com after eight years at the helm of its Asia-Pacific and Japan business.
Furness revealed that he would be stepping down at the end of the month to go on a fishing trip with his family, before taking a short career break.
Furness has been the driving force behind a remarkable growth story.
When he picked up the reins at Impact.com, the APAC team had four people based in Sydney.
Today it has more than 140 people in APAC and Japan, serving more than 1,000 customers.
“This growth didn’t happen by accident – it was very conscious – it happened because we built an A+ team obsessed with real partnerships, execution, and getting better every day,” Furness wrote in a LinkedIn post.
“Our APAC business has now reached a level of maturity that calls for unified international leadership across APJ and EMEA. I see this as a huge milestone. It’s proof of how far this region has come and I’m incredibly proud of that. Mission accomplished.
“To our leadership team, we pushed hard, challenged each other, navigated many storms and built something really special. Thank you.
“To the broader APAC team, you are the story. Every key metric achieved, every award, every customer win belongs to you. Leading you has been one of the great privileges of my career. What a freakin’ amazing ride.”
Furness, who served as co-chair for UnlLtd. for 19 years, previously led RadiumOne and has held senior roles at SCA and Ninemsn.
After a short break, he said that he is open to opportunities to partner a technology business with ambitions to scale globally.
