Women’s sport just got louder as the iHeart Women’s Sports Network’s news bulletins go live across ARN’s metro and regional stations, providing dedicated coverage and highlights from the world of women’s sports.

Announced at ARN’s Upfront26 event last year, iHeart Women’s Sports quickly became one of the most anticipated initiatives. It provides daily coverage, podcasts and content focused on elite to amateur athletes from around Australia and the world, aiming to change the game by putting women’s sport front and centre in the media.

The daily bulletins are led by Rana Hussain, olympic gold medallist and sports presenter Sally Pearson and Fox Sports AFLW Boundary Reporter and Making the Call alumni, Hannah Davies.

On being a part of the iHeart Women’s Network, Rana Hussain said ”The iHeart Women’s Sport Network represents an important shift towards more thoughtful, inclusive storytelling in women’s sport. I’m excited by the opportunity to help elevate voices and contribute to a media space built on connection and respect.”

Sally Pearson OAM added, “Representation of women’s sport in the media is something I have always been passionate about and growing up as a young athlete, it’s something that would’ve really helped inspire me along my journey. Being a part of the iHeart Women’s Sport Network is the first step to help shifting the narrative and supporting female athletes, no matter where they are in their journey.”

Hannah Davies also shared “I’m so excited to be joining ARN on this new venture. Women’s sport has been fundamental to my life – and I’m honoured to be part of the next wave of giving women and non-binary athletes the spotlight.”

The iHeart Women’s Sports Network is in partnership with Making the Call, who share a mission to increase representation, access, and equity in women’s sport and will provide fans with more access than ever to the stories, commentary and conversation shaping women’s sports. A percentage of every dollar invested into the network goes towards funding pathways into sports media through their programs.

Beyond broadcast, the network brings together some of Australia’s sports podcasts, including Two Good Sports with journalists Abbey Gelmi and Georgie Tunny, No Dribble from netballers Liz Ellis AO, Catherine Cox AM and Carolyn Swindell, The [Female] Athlete Project with Olympian Chloe Dalton, Cricket Australia’s Women’s Podcast The Scoop, plus titles from around the world including podcasts from tennis great Rennae Stubbs and WNBA icon Sheryl Swoopes.

The iHeart Women’s Sports Network Broadcasts can now be heard across the country on the GOLD, KIIS and ARN Regional network.
