Seven’s former Sunrise and game show host Andrew O’Keefe has been arrested over allegations he assaulted a woman.
news.com.au has reported that the incident occurred in Sydney’s CBD and a spokesperson told the news site, “A verbal argument ensued between the pair before the man allegedly assaulted the woman – grabbing her by the throat, pushing her to the ground and punching her.
“The man allegedly assaulted the woman a second time – punching and kicking her – before she left the unit.”
O’Keefe is of course famous for hosting Deal Or No Deal and working on Seven for over a decade. He is one of those people every Aussie recognises. However, his contract with Seven expired in 2020 and was not renewed.
O’Keefe is also from a very famous family his father, his uncle is musician Johnny O’Keefe and his father Barry O’Keefe was a judge for the Supreme Court of New South Wales.
Depressingly, this isn’t the first time O’Keefe has had a run-in with the law. 9news reported that in 2021 he was accused of kicking and spitting on his then partner but a court ultimately dismissed the charges on mental health grounds.
Interestingly, O’Keefe was a former White Ribbon Ambassador.
New.com.au reported that O’Keefe should be appearing in court on Thursday to face the charges.
