Forbes Australia has expanded its editorial and content capabilities with a series of hires across its editorial and video production.
The new appointments come as Forbes Australia’s magazine readership reaches more than 450,000 readers nationally each month through its magazine and digital platforms.
The appointments include: Daniel Van Boom, who joins as a business journalist from Capital Brief and new head of video Liam McKeown, who joins from SBS.
Alongside them, Johanna Leggett has been appointed as editorial lead of contributors and lists, Randy Lai has been appointed as a lifestyle journalist, and Sue Williams has joined as a freelance features writer.
Forbes Australia editor-in-chief Sarah O’Carroll said the hires represent the next phase of growth for the publication.
“Over the past three years, Forbes Australia has built a highly engaged audience around ambition, leadership, wealth creation and innovation. As we continue to grow, we’re investing further in the areas our audience is increasingly drawn to – premium lifestyle journalism, influential lists, distinctive storytelling and high-quality video content.
These appointments bring outstanding editorial and creative talent into the business at a pivotal moment for the brand. Each of them understands how modern audiences consume media – whether through sharp reporting or compelling visual storytelling – and they will play an important role in shaping the next chapter of Forbes Australia.”
The newsroom expansion follows a period of momentum for Forbes Australia, following its sold-out Forbes Women’s Summit, headlined by Gladys Berejiklian and Megan Gale and its continued growth of events and membership business with print magazine readership growing 21.6 per cent year-on-year.
