Dentsu in South Australia has been awarded the Tobacco Cessation & Vaping Control account in partnership with Preventive Health SA.
The campaign will run throughout FY26/27 and will see dentsu join the preventative health behaviour change initiative, aiming to reduce smoking and vaping prevalence across South Australia by encouraging and supporting meaningful behaviour change.
Designed to connect with smokers and vapers in the moments where these behaviours are most likely to occur, the campaign focusses on providing relevant, accessible pathways to quit and supporting long-term behaviour change.
The appointment follows a competitive South Australian Government procurement process and marks dentsu’s first partnership in Tobacco Cessation & Vaping Control account in South Australia after taking over from Wavemaker, who held the contract for over 10 years.
The work was awarded with the support of dentsu’s WA government team. With a combined 15 years of experience leading across Government campaigns, dentsu’s team of Hannah Fisher, client partner, and Mark Dunn, digital director, will lead the media strategy, planning, investment and optimisation of Preventive Health SA’s Tobacco Cessation & Vaping Control campaign across South Australia.
Fisher said the appointment reflects dentsu’s passion for driving societal change.
“Having been a part of South Australian Government Master Media Panel for the past seven years, winning this additional work shows our team’s passion for delivering media strategies that create real-world impact. Working alongside Preventive Health SA, we’re excited to help build a campaign that connects with people in meaningful ways and supports healthier communities across SA,” she said.
“Reducing smoking and vaping remains a priority for Preventive Health SA. In selecting dentsu, we will be delivering a campaign that combines evidence-based behavioural insights with innovative media thinking, helping South Australians act, and access the support they need to quit. Dentsu are aligned with us in improving health outcomes across our communities and we look forward to working with the team,” concluded Chelsea Murphy, senior project officer, Preventive Health SA.
