Solstice Media, publisher of The New Daily, Australian Traveller and 7am, has launched a new finance newsletter and website, called The Money Edition.
It has employed three journalists and signed a number of high profile specialist finance writers to contribute to the publication.
The Money Edition will be a daily website and a newsletter distributed to over 250,000 subscribers to the One Solstice audience network on a Tuesday and Thursday at lunchtime. The publication will launch a podcast and events in early 2027.
The Money Edition has appointed an editor, Sebastian Sinclair, who was most recently the APAC editor at Decrypt and has also appointed deputy editor, Stuart Marsh, who was most recently
news editor at nine.com.au.
Solstice managing director, Paul Hamra, said while there were a number of business and finance media outlets writing for a business audience, very few were focussed on a broader readership
simply interested in what is happening to their money.
“The Money Edition has been established to explain what is happening in the economy and how it is impacting people’s hip pocket,” he said.
The Money Edition editor, Sebastian Sinclair said Australians are being asked to make increasingly tough financial decisions at a time when the economy, markets and cost of living are quickly shifting.
“Interest rates affect mortgages and savings. Global markets affect super. Government policy can change what households pay, earn and invest. New technology is reshaping jobs and businesses,” said Sinclair.
“But too often, financial news tells you what happened without explaining what it means for you. That is the gap we want to fill.”
The Money Edition will be sent by email to subscribers at no charge on a Tuesday and Thursday and updated daily online.
