Blundstone has highlighted the beauty of battered boots, launching the latest iteration of its global ‘Well Worn’ brand platform with Thinkerbell.
Building on the platform first introduced in 2024, the new campaign takes a distinctly from-the-ground-up approach, putting the focus on the boots themselves — rather than the polished lifestyle imagery typically associated with footwear advertising.
Shot from the wearer’s point of view, the OOH work captures Blundstone boots in their natural habitat: scuffed, stained, muddy and properly lived-in.
The campaign features close-up imagery of the boots across a range of environments, from city streets to rugged trails, with the wear and tear becoming the hero of the creative.
The idea centres on the notion that a pair of Blundstones develops its character through use, with every scrape, crease and speck of dirt representing a story from the wearer’s life.
Amy Munting, head of marketing and brand at Blundstone, said the platform was designed to celebrate the memories attached to a well-worn pair.
“‘Well Worn’ has always been about celebrating the scuffs, scrapes and creases of beautifully aged Blundstones, proof of the real stories our wearers create every day,” Munting said.
“The memories made in a pair of Blundstones are what make them so special, and our wearers often pay tribute to their boots, sharing the stories, adventures and journeys they’ve been part of.”
Thinkerbell head thinker Suzi Williamson said the campaign leaned into the reality that Blundstones are made to be used, rather than kept pristine.
“Blundstones don’t sit in closets gathering dust, they get out in the big wide world,” Williamson said.
“The team have leaned right into that authentic point-of-view aesthetic, showing that no matter the occasion or environment, these boots are built to be Well Worn.”
It will roll out globally across digital, social, print and out-of-home channels.
