Indie agency Atomic 212° has promoted founding media partner Claire Fenner (pictured) to the role of group managing director.
Under Fenner’s leadership, Atomic 212° Melbourne had an impressive 2020 off the back of a number of years of consistent growth. The highlight in 2020 being the BMW Group Australia account win to conclude the year.
Fenner has led the agency to win a number of key accounts including Bupa, Origin and BHP and many more over the years. From a broader business perspective, she has been a key pioneer of the agency’s data-driven Smarter, Faster and Accountable media model.
Atomic 212°’s Rory Heffernan will now take the reins of the Melbourne agency as general manager. Heffernan has been with the agency since inception and has played a critical role in stewarding the business success, leading the performance strategy and planning across key clients including; Origin, Bupa, BMW Group Australia and more.
Fenner, a B&T 30 Under 30 Awards winner, will focus on nurturing new talent and driving client growth as she relocates to Sydney leading the agency from the Walsh Bay office.
Fenner said that while 2020 was one of the toughest periods in our industry’s history, she “couldn’t be prouder of the strength demonstrated by the team” and “the exceptional work we have been able to produce despite the challenging year”.
“We have built a world-class team with a unique data-led media model and are proud to partner with some of Australia’s strongest brands,” she said.
“This is a truly remarkable time in our industry and in our agency. I’m really excited to see what we can achieve over the next few years.”
As group managing director, Fenner will oversee the agency’s integrated media approach and will work closely with Atomic 212°’s leadership team across Sydney, Darwin, Brisbane and Melbourne.
Barry O’Brien OAM, chairman and partner, adde: “Claire Fenner is an exceptional talent.
“From a very early age, I’ve seen her grow in terms of her ability to run a business, how to grow a client’s business and how to motivate the people around her … and that is an exceptional and extraordinary talent.
“I wish Claire every success in her new role as group managing director.”
