Adobe has brought its creative tools to Google Gemini for the first time and expanded its existing offering in Claude with Acrobat capabilities and new interactive editing tools.
The moves form part of Adobe’s broader push to bring its creative and productivity software into the AI chatbot platforms where users are increasingly working.
Adobe in Gemini will give users access to tools from Photoshop, Lightroom, Adobe Express and Firefly directly through conversations with Gemini. Users can describe what they want to create or edit, with Adobe orchestrating the relevant tools and steps behind the scenes.
The Gemini integration can be used to enhance product photography, create social-ready versions of existing designs and customise professionally designed Adobe Express templates for marketing campaigns.
This launch is the first step in Adobe’s partnership with Google, with additional creative and productivity capabilities planned for the platform.
Adobe has also expanded its plugin for Anthropic’s Claude. It now includes more than 80 tools spanning Acrobat, Express, Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere, Lightroom, InDesign and Adobe Stock, bringing Acrobat into the plugin for the first time.
The addition means users can now work with PDFs directly within Claude, including deleting, combining or splitting pages, redacting information and converting PDFs into other file formats.
Adobe has also introduced an interactive PDF editor, allowing users to reorder pages, edit text and add comments and highlights without leaving Claude.
For Adobe Express, the update adds a layer-based interactive editor that allows users to independently adjust elements including images, copy, colours and fonts, rather than regenerating an entire design.
The additions build on Adobe’s existing creative capabilities in Claude, which include image, vector, layout and video editing.
Adobe first brought its creative tools to Claude earlier this year, and has also made its software available through other AI platforms including ChatGPT, Slack and Microsoft Copilot.
The latest integrations reflect Adobe’s strategy of allowing users to begin creative and productivity workflows inside AI assistants, before moving into Adobe’s dedicated applications when more advanced editing and control is required.
Adobe in Gemini will roll out globally across Gemini plans, while the expanded Adobe for Claude plugin will roll out globally across Claude and Claude Code on desktop, mobile and web.
