The Australian Association of National Advertisers has rebranded to The Marketing Association of Australia. The move follows its merging with the Association of Data-Driven Marketers (ADMA).
The Marketing Association of Australia said it marks a defining moment for the profession.
“This is not the end of AANA or ADMA. It is the evolution of two proud organisations into something even stronger, built to meet the moment our industry is in,” AANA (and now the Marketing Association of Australia) CEO Josh Faulks told the crowd at its RESET conference in Sydney.
“This is much more than a new name. It is about delivering greater value for members: a stronger community, world-class capability building, and a more influential and powerful voice on the policy and regulatory issues shaping our industry.”
RESET saw more than 600 attendees come to the conference.
Opening the event, AANA CEO Josh Faulks told delegates the marketing industry was entering a defining moment, where adaptability, collaboration and continuous capability building would be critical to future growth.
“Our community is growing, and today’s sold-out event demonstrates just how important it is for Australia’s marketing industry to come together, learn from one another and navigate disruption collectively,” Faulks said.
“Every marketer is facing the same challenge. How do we continue to grow when the world around us is changing faster than ever? RESET this year, is all about that question.”
“The pace of change isn’t slowing down. Marketing leaders are being asked to ‘fly the plane while building it’, redesigning the operating model while still delivering growth. That requires adaptability, new capability and a stronger united industry.”
RESET’s speakers included Award-winning journalist and author Nick Bryant will examine the global forces reshaping trust, democracy and society, while futurist Dr Catherine Ball will explore the possibilities of AI and emerging technology.
Behavioural science pioneer Rory Sutherland will challenge conventional thinking about how people make decisions, before former Mastercard global CMO Raja Rajamannar explains why marketing needs a full reset, not simply a tune-up.
Suncorp’s Mim Haysom and Leo Australia chief creative officer Andy Fergusson will then deliver a masterclass on the strategy and creative partnership behind the Cannes-winning Haven campaign.
Tennis legend Andre Agassi will close the day with a deeply personal reflection on pressure, performance, reinvention, resilience and sustaining performance through decades of change.
