The Media Federation of Australia (MFA) has appointed UM’s Briar Rowsell as chair of its career inspiration series, MFA 5+.
MFA 5+ is a programme of events tailored to support media professionals with five to 10 years experience. The program, which first launched in June 2013, offers management skills support and mentoring opportunities for those moving into the second stage of their careers.
Sophie Madden, chief executive of the MFA, said: “Briar contributed to the huge success of our first two 5+ events this year, and with her impressive background and great reputation in the industry, I’m sure will take 5+ onto even bigger and better things in 2014.”
Rowsell (pictured), communications manager at UM, added: “I took on this role because it’s an opportunity to examine broader issues affecting our industry and actually be able to influence them. I also get to collaborate with a really talented committee of emerging agency leaders.”
