Nevam’s CEO Brittany Fox is urging women in the technology industry to stop waiting for permission and start trusting their own instincts, following her win at the Women Leading Tech Awards 2026 Innovator Award.
Speaking to B&T after her win at the ICC on Friday, Fox said the recognition represents both a personal milestone and a reflection of the journey from her small-town upbringing to leading innovation in enterprise tech.
“I come from a really small town, and my whole family didn’t have passports or graduate college, so I think this is one of those big moments where you look at your team and go, yeah, little Brittany, you did it,” she said.
Fox, who founded and leads Nevam, has been focused on redefining customer experience and enterprise visibility through technology that connects insight directly to action.
In a recent project with major Australian liquor retailer BWS, she helped transform a prototype into a working solution in just three months, mapping more than 90 friction points across the customer journey while integrating platforms including Adobe, Google and Meta.
Fox emphasised that Nevam’s approach is designed not just to surface insights, but to close the loop between data and operations by linking findings directly into the systems teams use day to day, improving efficiency and reducing previously invisible backlogs.
Reflecting on her leadership in a traditionally male-dominated industry, Fox told B&T success comes from confidence and self-belief rather than waiting for external validation.
“I’ve always been in a male dominated industry, and you just get to the point where you don’t care, because you’re just going to show them that you deserve to be in the room and take up as much space as possible,” she said.
She added that a key lesson for aspiring innovators is to trust their own judgment and take ownership of their ideas rather than deferring to others.
“Quit waiting for other people to answer the questions you already know the answer to,” she said.
Fox also highlighted the importance of self-belief as a driver of progress, encouraging others to take ownership of their path rather than waiting for permission.
“I want to show other women that you can bet on yourself instead of waiting for your turn – it’s your turn if you bet on yourself,” she said.
Fox continues to be a prominent role model for women in the technology industry, balancing her work as a solo founder with raising two young children, while building Nevam’s ambition to become a leading platform for enterprise insight, human-centred design and customer experience visibility.
