What’s A Winning 30 Under 30 Journalist/Producer Entry Look Like?

B&T’s 30 under 30 awards are shaping up to be one hell of an event, complete with a fresh collection of categories. But with change comes responsibility, and we’re giving you a sweet little rundown of every new and updated category in 2017 so you’re armed and ready to jump straight into your entries.

In this year’s awards, we’ve got the following 10 categories – five more chances of winning than last year:

    3. Creative
    4. Marketing
    5. Media Planner/Buyer
    6. PR
    7. Project Manager
    8. Sales/Account Manager
    9. Strategy
    10. Tech

Today’s wrap up covers the Journalist/Producer category, one of our updated ones that recognises the rising stars in the journalism and production industries.

More than just news breakers, they are story tellers, connecting with audiences across all platforms and devices. They are inquisitive, hard-working, overtly curious and have a desire to communicate news and powerful stories with the wider public.

The roles we’re looking for include – but are not limited to: journalist, broadcast journalist, editor, editor-in-chief, publisher, assignment editor, associate editor, columnist, reporter, presenter/news anchor, correspondent, script writer, staff writer, researcher, copy editor, producer, executive producer, supervising producer, field producer, broadcast producer, tv producer, radio producer, audiovisual producer, tv director, film director, radio director.

Your entry requires you to type up 1200 words (shouldn’t be hard as a budding journo) that answers the following points:

  • Outline your career path and any key achievements to date.
  • What makes you a future leader in your chosen field?
  • What represents success to you?
  • What do you think needs to be improved in your industry and why?
  • Describe your attributes in no more than five words.

On-time entries close on March 6, with late entries closing on March 13. Tickets are on sale now for our gorgeous Ivy shindig that will be held on Thursday April 27.
