Westpac has partnered with the Royal Flying Doctor Service SA/NT (RFDS), supporting the delivery of healthcare services to remote and regional communities across South Australia and the Northern Territory.
Through the partnership, Westpac will become the exclusive banking partner of the RFDS in South Australia and the Northern Territory, including workplace banking benefits for its employees.
Local Westpac teams will also support the Service’s fundraising events and initiatives, including being a Giving Day dollar-match partner, helping to raise vital funds for the services communities rely on.
Westpac chief executive, business & wealth, Paul Fowler, said the partnership reflects a shared commitment to regional Australia.
“The RFDS is one of the most trusted and respected organisations in the country, particularly in regional and remote Australia,” Fowler said.
“Both our organisations were built to serve regional communities, and that shared purpose makes this partnership especially meaningful.”
RFDS SA/NT chair, Peter de Cure AM, said the partnership recognises the importance of long-term support for regional, rural and remote healthcare.
“The RFDS was founded on the belief that where you live shouldn’t determine the quality of healthcare you receive,” Mr de Cure said.
“Partnering with Westpac, an organisation that understands the challenges and opportunities of regional Australia, helps us continue delivering on that mission.”
The partnership builds on the bank’s support of the Westpac Lifesaver Rescue Helicopter Service.
