Westpac has named former IAG marketing director Sally Kiernan as its head of strategic marketing, consumer and former Coca-Cola marketing exec Leo Roberts as its head of media and strategic partnerships.
Westpac’s chief growth, brand and marketing officer Michelle Klein said the hires reflect the expanded remit of the growth, brand and marketing functions at Westpac.
“We’ve been bringing together strategy, customer insight, data, creativity, media and partnerships into one connected team,” she posted on LinkedIn.
“It’s all in service of one ambition: helping Westpac become our customers’ number one bank and partner through life. Today I’m delighted to welcome two talented leaders who’ll help us do just that and complement our brilliant team.”
Prior to joining Westpac, Kiernan spent more than eight years with IAG as the marketing director for NRMA Insurance. Klein served as NRMA Insurance’s marketing chief from May 2023 to September last year.
“There are few businesses that play an essential role in their customers’ lives every single day, which is just one of the many reasons I’m so thrilled to be joining Westpac,” Kiernan posted on LinkedIn.
“I’m looking forward to working with Michelle Klein and the team to help shape the next chapter of growth and deliver even greater value for customers.”
Roberts, meanwhile, spent 18 years with Coca-Cola South Pacific, starting as a media manager and rising to become its integrated marketing experiences group director for ASEAN and the South Pacific.
He departed Coca-Cola in April this year.
“Westpac is an Australian icon with a bold ambition, brilliant leadership, and a team committed to doing things differently. I can’t wait to contribute,” he posted on LinkedIn.
“I’m looking forward to meeting the team and the partners, and building on the momentum that is clearly already in motion.”
