Nutrition company Weight Watchers have announced that Nicole McInnes will be promoted from marketing and engagement director to managing director for Australia & New Zealand. Additionally, they have brought on a new marketing chief.
McInnes (pictured above) has been part of the WW team since 2019 in the marketing and engagement director role, having over 25 years of experience in the industry through her for companies such as Dell, AMEX, Pandora Music, eHarmony and WooliesX. She will be taking the place of Mathieu Le Renard, who will henceforth be taking over a new role within the company’s European division.
Le Renard spoke about McInnes promotion, pointing out her contribution to the ANZ team and the invaluable experience she brings to the table.
“As we move forward into the next phase of transformation and growth, Nicole will drive the business’ growth ambitions and amplify our impact on health, especially in the aftermath of the pandemic,” he said.
McInnes herself also expressed her gratitude for her promotion, as she says it will provide her with the opportunity to continue to help people.
“I’m delighted to deepen my commitment to positively impacting the health of Aussies and Kiwis with this broader remit,” said McInnes.
“Mostly I’m inspired by our members’ success, as they benefit from Weight Watchers’ years of scientific, weight loss expertise. We’ve heard of people just loving the energy they’ve gained from incorporating sustainable healthy habits, to others who are no longer pre-diabetic, or have come off blood pressure medication. Their stories are what keeps the WW team so engaged and wanting to change more peoples’ lives.”
The position of marketing and engagement director will be filled by former Australian Radio Network CMO, Anthony Xydis, as the company themselves have announced. Ksydis had been a part of ARN since 2013, and rose to the position of CMO in 2016.
He has been a consultant for WW since last year and will work directly under McInnes.
