After months of extraordinary cooking, remarkable moments and fierce competition, Vinnie Gibaldi has been crowned the winner of MasterChef Australia 2026, taking home the coveted trophy and $250,000 in prize money.
This proved a winning recipe for 10 which claimed a spot in the top five of Sundays TV Ratings with a total TV national reach of 1.435 million people and a total TV national average audience of 830 thousand.
This was the biggest national total TV audience for MasterChef since the 2024 Grand Finale.
Gibaldi triumphed over close friend Petro Papathomas in an emotional Grand Finale that showcased the creativity, resilience and technical brilliance that have defined an unforgettable season.
On the win Gibaldi said: “I couldn’t have imagined it from the first day, but I am so, so grateful for absolutely everything that I have experienced here, all the friends that I have made, all the people I’ve met and just how far I’ve come. I couldn’t have done it without all the support from everyone.”
The first room reveal of The Block on Nine topped the Ratings with a reach of 2.4 million and an average audience of 1.3 million.
Taking home guest bedroom week was Courtney and Sev with an impressive week one score of 26 out of a possible 30.
For Seven, its most popular entertainment program was the AFL.
Friday and Saturday was dominated by sport and the news. Seven’s AFL broadcasts continue to have a stronghold over Nine’s free-to-air broadcast of the NRL. However, on Saturday the NRL in the evening slot did better than the AFL in the afternoon.
