On Sunday evening, Seven with a helping hand from Jim Jefferies claimed the title of the most watched entertainment program of the night. Their sports special of The 1% Club grabbed a total TV national reach of 1,787,000 and a total TV national average audience of 1,032,000.
The game show where 100 contestants go head-to-head for $100,000 by answering questions, featured all types of athletes. From a retired NBA player to a chess player, Jefferies queried the contestants on the usual problem solving questions with a few sports themed ones sprinkled in there.
In the end Ebony was the last contestant remaining. She made it to the 1% question—called that because only one per cent of the nation can answer it—and if she got it right, she would have walked away with $99,000. Not the full $100k because one of the other contestants took $1000 during the episode.
Ebony was tasked with answering the above question.
Unfortunately, she got the tough question wrong and walked away with nothing. She locked in 11, however the correct answer was 12.
For viewers, they walked away with a few laughs thanks to comedian Jefferies throwing a few jokes out during the episode. His go-to is making fun of contestants who get eliminated in the early rounds.
Over on Nine, its most watched broadcast was The Michael Jackson Story which pulled in a reach of 1,475,000 and an average audience of 545,000. Jackson has risen back to popularity as a result of the recently released biopic film Jackson.
For 10, Masterchef served up its biggest total audience since 2021, up 14 per cent year-on-year. The episode reached just over one million people and an average of 671,000 people watched it.
