Germany are widely considered the gold standard of penalty shootouts, having built a reputation for composure from the spot across decades of international football.
The post-match coverage drew a further 866,000 in national reach, with the Netherlands v Morocco match drawing in a national reach of 1,980,000 with an average audience of 865,000.
On Nine, Tipping Point Australia continued its steady Tuesday performance with a national reach of 1,613,000 and an average audience of 880,000, while over on Seven, The Chase Australia drew in a national reach of 1,462,000 with an average audience of 739,000. Both quiz shows remain among the most consistent performers on their respective networks week to week.
The Hundred with Andy Lee brought in a national reach of 1,413,000 for Nine with an average audience of 665,000. Last night’s episode featured Sophie Monk, Becky Lucas and Nick Cody.
Wimbledon coverage on Nine drew in a national reach of 1,375,000 and an average audience of 342,000, with the tournament delivering its own headline moment. Twenty-year old Australian, Maya Joint, defeated wildcard and tennis icon Serena Williams in what was one of the more remarkable results of the fortnight.
Ten’s MasterChef Australia came in twelfth with a nation reach of 1,190,000 and an average audience of 652,000, holding steady through Knockout Week.
On ABC, Stuff the British Stole drew a national reach of 732,000and an average audience of 424,000 in twentieth, alongside Lucy Worsley’s Victorian Murder Club, which had a national reach of 608,000 and an average audience of 408,000 in twenty-first.
