Anyone that is familiar with the BBL will now about the fierce rivalry between the Perth Scorchers and the Sydney Sixers. Once again the two powerhouse clubs met overnight on Seven in a blockbuster finals match for a total TV national reach of 2.3 million people to enjoy.
The equation was simple, whichever team won the match would go on to host and play in the grand final. The Scorchers batted first and it took a classy bowling attack to restrict Perth to just 147 runs. This is especially because New Zealand batsman, Fin Allen belted a quick fire 49 to get his side to a flying start.

But true to Perth’s history, a total TV national average audience of 769,000 fans tuned in to watch the Scorchers defend a low total. Sixers put on a masterclass on how not to bat, getting knocked over for 99—48 runs short of the total. Steve Smith was the only Sydney batter that appeared comfortable on the Perth wicket, knocking a solid 37 runs.
