It is a tradition as old as time that never fails to disappoint, and last night was no exception as the Block heads settled in to watch the first episode of the series together.
Most were thrilled to watch the episode, but Han, in typical Han fashion, had some feedback.
“I just looked like a spoiled brat. That’s how it felt watching it, and that’s why I was like, I feel gross about myself, I feel gross about the situation,” she said, in response to her meltdown after being given House 2 – far from her first choice.
The reality check might have finally sent Han the message she’s needed to hear for a while. Later in the episode, when her original shed plans were axed, she flashes back to her prior meltdown, reminding herself: “It’s a TV show, Hannah, it’s not life or death”.
Are Han’s days of losing it over a minor inconvenience over? We very much doubt it, but for now, the reality check is continuing to serve Nine well in the ratings game. The episode raked in a total TV national reach of 2,232,000 and a national average of 1,307,000, placing it second overall and first among the non-news programs.
