Thursday TV Wrap: The Ashes Spark It For Nine

Once again, Nine’s Ashes coverage proved a hit with viewers, posting 489,000 viewers at its peak last night on 9Gem.

Meanwhile, The Bachelor is doing the business for 10. It was the most watched entertainment show of Thursday night, posting 742,000 according to OzTAM metro numbers.

The Bachie combined with the returning Gogglebox (704,000) gave 10 some strong Thursday night numbers.

Hugh Marks and team must be thanking their lucky stars the Aussies are putting in a good show in the cricket, the network easily winning Thursday night with 33.1 per cent audience share (all channels).

Seven had to settle for 25.1 per cent and had 10 breathing down its neck with 22 per cent.

The ABC had an off night as everyone tuned in for the cricket, it pulled 12.5 per cent and SBS did 7.3 per cent.

Best for Seven was it’s 6pm news (994,000), followed by Home And Away (575,000), The Chase (558,000) and The Front Bar (320,000).

Over at 10, The Project had 457,000 and 10 News First did 366,000.

Nine’s 6pm news did 818,000, ACA had 658,000, Hot Seat did 437,000 and the Manly-Tigers NRL game pulled 297,000.

For breakfast, Sunrise had 262,000 to Today’s 212,000.

The ABC’s evening went this direction: 7pm news (656,000), 7.30 (514,000) and Escape From The City (364,000).

Best for SBS was The Hunting with 187,000.
