Independent media agency The Media Store has been appointed to manage digital media services for ride-share company Splend.

Under its new remit, The Media Store will lead digital media strategy, implementation, optimisation and reporting for Splend in both the Australian and UK markets.

In selecting The Media Store, the Splend team was seeking a digital marketing partner to help the company scale and was impressed with the agency’s technology solutions and ability to define and reach its unique audience.

Splend is a fast growing rideshare support business in Australia. Since launching in Sydney in 2015, Splend has stayed steadfast to its mission of economic and environmental sustainability, changing the way rideshare drivers own and operate their vehicles, and providing drivers with access to affordable, eco-friendly electric vehicles (EVs). Splend plans to also include rideshare insurance cover, servicing, maintenance and Government costs including registration.

Today, Splend has one of the largest EV fleets in the country, with plans to help one million drivers access EVs by 2030. If consumers choose a Green Uber, it is most likely a Splend vehicle.

Commenting on the new partnership, Splend chief executive officer, Chris King said, “Splend is aiming to change the way rideshare drivers own and operate their vehicles. As a fast-scaling business, we set out to find a media agency partner who both understood our business model and had the tools and people to work smarter and faster to meet our audience where they are and support our goals for growth.

“In The Media Store we have found that partner—we were impressed with their technology solutions to help find our unique audience and we look forward to producing strong results together.”

“We are excited to support Splend’s vision of making the world a greener place through the transition to one million EVs in the rideshare sector,” added The Media Store CEO, Stephen Leeds.

“Splend is an ambitious, Australian-owned brand in the auto category, with significant growth and expansion plans. This growth mindset and commitment to both innovation and customer satisfaction directly aligns with our agency’s culture of achieving genuine, effective results. We’re looking forward to working closely with the Splend team to help them reach new audiences and grow their business in the evolving rideshare market.”

The Media Store has expertise across media strategy, planning, sponsorship, partnership integration, research and insights. Its client list includes national brands like ENGIE, RMIT, Hino, Rugby World Cup Experiences, and Melbourne Royal Show, among others.

The Splend appointment is effective immediately.
