It’s proving a TV late bloomer but Seven’s House Rules is admirably finding its feet with viewers increasingly flocking to the reno show.

Seven heavily promoted a stoush between contestant Troy (in picture) and the show’s judge Drew Heath and it clearly worked as the show pulled 1.28 million viewers last night according to OzTam figures. Up from 1.19 million the previous week.

In the battle of the reality shows, Home Rules was the clear winner, with Nine’s The Voice snaring 1.03 million, but shedding viewers, and Ten’s MasterChef nabbing just shy of 800,000 viewers.

Seven won the night on the back of House Rules pulling in 30.3 per cent audience share. Nine had 29.7 per cent, Ten 17.2 per cent, ABC 15.6 per cent and SBS had 7.2 per cent.

In the battle of the current affair shows, Seven’s Sunday Night was the winner with 829,000 over Nine’s 60 Minutes with 758,000.

Nine, however, could claim the most watched show of the night with its 6pm news bulletin snaring 1.27 million.

Over at the ABC, its 7pm news had 784,000, Grantchester scored 695,000, Doctor Who had 428,000 and DCI Banks claimed 407,000.

Italy’s Invisible Cities was the best for SBS, bringing in a respectable 367,000.
