US rapper and prominent weed fan Snoop Dogg has announced his very own wine label via a collaboration with Aussie winemaker Treasury Wine Estates.
As part of Treasury’s “19 Crimes” brand – they’re the bottles with Australian convicts on the label – Snoop Dogg has put his name to his very own red called Snoop Cali Red as part of a multi-year collaboration between the two parties.
The wine is promoted as the brand’s first Californian wine and features Snoop’s face on the label. For wine buffs, it will contain 65 per cent Petite Syrah grapes, 30 per cent Zinfandel and five per cent merlot.
Mr Dogg’s vino is expected to retail for $12 a bottle and will be available in Australia.
Commenting on his new venture, Dogg said: “I’ve been a fan of this wine and I’m excited to unveil my ‘Snoop Cali Red’ this summer and share the experience with all my fans.”
John Wardley, marketing vice president for 19 Crimes, added: “Snoop Dogg, an entertainment and California icon, is the perfect partner for 19 Crimes Snoop Cali Red.”
