Channel Seven presenter Ryan Phelan has reportedly been charged with an alleged assault occasioning bodily harm against his girlfriend Chelsea Franklin, a professional ballet dancer.
Media is reporting the assault allegedly took place on Saturday night at the couple’s home on Sydney’s northern beaches and Phelan voluntarily presented himself to Manly Police station last night.

It’s been a bad week for the 45-year-old Phelan after the network announced his show The Daily Edition was to be axed due to budget constraints.
The Daily Edition finishes up this Friday and Phelan has been removed from hosting duties following the domestic violence allegations.
A Seven spokesperson telling B&T: “Ryan Phelan will not be returning to The Daily Edition effective immediately.”
This morning, Seven’s breakfast show Sunrise announced that Phelan had been sacked by network bosses.
It’s not the first time Phelan’s personal life has made headlines. He famously dated former high-end escort and author Samantha X (whose real name is Amanda Goff) in 2018, a relationship that was said to have made many of his colleagues uncomfortable.
Phelan has not commented on the domestic violence charge publicly, however, over the weekend he took to Instagram to acknowledge The Daily Edition’s demise and the work of colleagues.
“Firstly, I can’t express what a gift from god @sallyobermeder has been,” he wrote. “Every single day she is such a joy to sit alongside, I love her so dearly and am so grateful to have slipstreamed her talent.
“My mate @tomwilliams70 helped build this show, and I’m so grateful for his ongoing friendship.
“The production and behind the scenes team are some of the best and passionate I’ve worked with and will miss them all.
“And last but not least, thank you to everyone who watched, loved and supported the show. Hope to see you on the telly again soon.”
