Rachel Page, Seven’s national sales director, has left the business, B&T understands.
In an email sent by Jeff Howard, Seven West Media’s CEO and MD, to its partners and seen by B&T, he explained that while “Rach has been great for Seven” it was time for a change. Page departed the business today.
“As we continue to build and evolve our digital sales team and capability we are focussed on — and making decisions based on — how to better understand and service you, and your clients,” continued Howard.
Jordan King, Nine’s incoming digital sales strategy director, will get a promotion by stepping into Page’s old job when he starts on 4 November.
“We’re excited for what Jordan will bring to Seven, and to you, and he will be out to see you and your teams soon after he starts,” continued Howard.
“As part of this plan we are investing significantly in our digital sales team resources and wanted to let you know we now are in market hiring an additional 22 roles to build out that group and increase our ability to support your business. Accelerating to our digital future is the first pillar in our company strategy and we are determined to deliver it, as I hope this new investment demonstrates.”
Page joined Seven in May last year, having spent seven years with Yahoo, rising to its national sales director.
A Seven spokesperson said “Rachel Page is leaving her role as Digital Sales Director of Seven. Rachel has made a great contribution to Seven since she joined us in May 2023, and we wish her very success for the future.
“We are building and evolving our digital sales team to capitalise on and enhance the ongoing growth of 7plus and our other digital brands. In early September, we announced the appointment of Jordan King. He starts with us on 4 November as National Digital Sales Director.”
It was announced in September that King would be joining Seven from Nine.
At the time, Seven Digital’s group managing director, Gereurd Roberts, said that he “We couldn’t be more excited to welcome Jordan to the team. He is widely regarded as one of the best digital sales talents in the country and will play a leading role as we accelerate Seven’s digital growth and ambitions.
“With the onboarding of both cricket and AFL digital rights later this year, alongside our unbeatable slate of premium on-demand content, it is the perfect time to bring Jordan on board. 7plus is primed to deliver high-value audiences at scale, and Jordan will work to ensure that equals efficient and effective results for our partners.”
In September, King also said that “I’m tremendously excited to be joining Seven as it continues to transition and evolve into a media business of the future”.
Presumably, he’s even more excited now. Back in July, B&T had the pleasure of being joined by both Page and King on stage in Sydney for a discussion on live sports.
