Digital outdoor media leader QMS has appointed Ben Gibb to the role of national sales director, New Zealand, effective January 2026.
Gibb was most recently head of ad sales for Sky NZ, where he worked for two years.
Reporting to QMS chief sales officer, Tim Murphy, Gibb will lead the sales function of the New Zealand out-of-home (OOH) business for QMS, overseeing sales strategy, client partnerships, and revenue growth, as the business continues its transition of the MediaWorks OOH division to QMS.
Gibb has over 20 years of experience across television, digital, magazines, and out-of-home. He has joined QMS from Sky New Zealand, where he was head of ad sales, and previously held senior roles at oOh!media, Adshel, and Yahoo.
“Ben is a significant hire for us – in every way. He’s one of the most respected operators in the New Zealand market and his experience, reputation and leadership will play a key role in building the QMS brand across our leading portfolio of assets including Auckland Transport’s four prized out of home concessions: vehicular based [transit] media, transport hubs, billboards and the newly appointed street furniture network,” Murphy said.
“His deep understanding of both the OOH and media landscapes will be invaluable as we transform our offering, providing greater opportunities for our media agency partners and their clients to plan and buy across New Zealand’s #1 OOH network,” Murphy added.
“I’m thrilled to be joining QMS at such an exciting time for the business. The transition of MediaWorks’ OOH division to QMS represents a huge opportunity to reimagine the OOH market, servicing our customers with innovative and effective solutions across New Zealand’s largest and most diverse OOH network,” Gibb said.
Gibb’s appointment comes as QMS continues its integration of its New Zealand OOH business under the QMS brand, following the company’s announcement earlier this year that will see MediaWorks strategically focus on its audio, digital, and content businesses.
