PHD Snares LG Electronics Media Account

New York City, NY, USA - June 18, 2001: Billboards in Times Square display advertisements of many different companies including, Coca Cola, LG, SamSung, Palm, and Suntory Whisky.

Omnicom Media Group’s PHD Australia has won LG Electronics media account as part of a global review.

The account went up for review in April this year and is said to be worth $800 million (according to R3 Worldwide).

Sources close to the issue confirmed to B&T PHD won the account locally as part of the review.

Havas Media Group was the incumbent on LG’s media account outside the US since 2013. However, B&T understands Havas did not participate in this review.

The appointment spans all regions, with Australia, Canada, Germany, India, Italy, Mexico, Russia, Spain, UK, USA and Vietnam being amongst the 50+ markets. LG will continue to use Korean agency HS Ad for local activations.

“We’re delighted to partner with LG on their global media duties,” said James Hawkins, CEO of PHD APAC.

“The company is a perfect example of the truly global and iconic brands born out of Asia-Pacific, and we are excited to partner with them on their continued growth and success in over 50 international markets.”

PHD Worldwide CEO Philippa Brown added: “Wins like these truly demonstrate PHD’s network capabilities. We are excited to work with LG on fulfilling its vision of becoming a faster and smarter global brand of the future, while seamlessly delivering on its brand promise of “Life’s Good”.”

PHD’s LG win follows a string of new business for the agency, including Virgin Australia’s media account, as well as TikTok’s global media account, which extended to PHD locally.
