OzTAM has launched a tendering process for its Total Video Measurement service contract.
Nielsen currently holds the contract and has done for the past 25 years.
OzTAM has enlisted the services of independent consultancy Pure X Media to help run the tender process. The consultancy has specialist expertise in audience measurement tender processes and cross media measurement.
OzTAM said the tender will adopt a modular approach, allowing participants to bid for specific components of the measurement service or for the complete end-to-end solution. The request for proposal (RFP) process will run during the second half of 2026, with a decision expected in Q1 2027.
“Video audience measurement plays a critical role in providing the transparency and accountability that underpins Australia’s media market. This process is about ensuring OzTAM continues to deliver the trusted measurement services our industry relies on, both today and into the future,” said Karen Halligan, OzTAM CEO.
“Over the past 25 years, Nielsen has been an invaluable partner in the delivery and evolution of OzTAM’s audience measurement services. We value that longstanding relationship and welcome their participation in the tender process.”
Nielsen, along with Milton Data, will remain OzTAM’s research service providers throughout the duration of the tender process, with the expectation that existing audience measurement services and currency operations will continue uninterrupted during this period.
